Find People Telephone Numbers
Should newspapers such as the Daily Terrorgraph in Sydney publish personal telephone numbers of protesters?
On Friday the 24th of November Sydney’s Critical Mass held it’s annual ride across the Sydney harbour bridge. Critical Mass lodged a notice of intention for the ride and followed complied with all legal requirements in the notice of intention. The Daily Telegraph published the telephone number of one of the riders encouraging motorists to express their feelings about the ride. A reporter namely Anita Quigly wrote “It has never occurred to me it might matter to drivers what a cyclist wears because, clothed or naked, with a helmet or not, all cyclists in the city are irritating and I find bring on an overwhelming desire to swerve towards” Encouraging people to attack cyclists. The daily terrorgraph should not be allowed to get away with writing lies and encouraging violence on our roads.
That seems to be a dangerous invasion of privacy and might put the people mentioned at risk for a whole lot of things.
